Hello Rivertonians!
I hope your spring is going well. The weather is warming here in the Pacific Northwest, so enjoy the sun while you can.
Got another major update for you today. Keep me posted about any bugs you encounter with these features or others in the Bug Reports thread on the Forum or #bug-reports in the Discord. There's more coming soon, so stay tuned!
Additions
- Player skills are here! The 8 skills are Horse Riding, Animal Training, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary, Gardening, Fishing, Crafting, and Reputation. There are new Badges for maxing out these skills at level 10. Your new Skills page (under the new My Ledger section in the navigation bar) also has tips on how to gain experience for leveling.
- Tip: Skills and Careers go hand-in-hand! More locations will be appearing throughout Riverton that have certain level requirements. You might even get access to more animals or pets that aren't found elsewhere. Keep an eye out!
- Sal's Pawn Shop is now open, where you can comb through The Pile once daily to get different types of construction or trash items; Trade In items you currently have to receive Scrap Metal; or buy items in the Daily Shop, which are limited to a maximum per day across all players.
- Tip: Anyone who snatches up the Components in the Daily Shop would be a popular shop indeed in the Flea Market!
- Speaking of skills... Anyone with Fishing level 8 or above can fish in the Lost Pond for Rare, Super Rare, and Epic fish. If you're lucky, there are also fish there that can't be found anywhere else!
- New patterns have been appearing in some of the stock the Northwest Cattle Co.: Alpacas, Pigs, and Goats!
- The Top Chef Collection is available to be collected! Check My Collections for the Recipes you need to collect and cook in order to snag it!
Adjustments
- You can now specify amounts of items you want to trade for any trade offer.
- The navigation menu has split Account and My Land to better delineate between important account settings and in-game customizations and features.
- "Change Trade Status" is now in the menu for managing your pets to clearly mark your animals for trade. This is a prerequisite to putting it up for sale in a shop, so this will be made clearer in the Help Center as well.
- The Animal Shelter has reduced their rates for pounding your pets.
Upcoming
Some priorities have been adjusted, so this is looking like the next batch of updates:
- Real Estate/Facilities
- Referral & reward system
- Competition Redux: reworking Competitions to be more robust with multiple horse entries per category!
- Horse Careers
Thanks for all your feedback! I'm so glad you're here! If you didn't catch the last major update, check out the 1.7.5 Household Pets Update. And I'm always looking for suggestions, so feel free to let me know about any balancing issues or anything you think would be a great addition to Riverton in the Suggestions thread! You can keep up with the roadmap here.
I'm so grateful for all of you who play this and help keep me going. :)
