Riverton
Careers
Careers are a long-term investment in your life at Riverton, requiring many days of logging into Riverton in order to succeed. Chosen careers are displayed on players' profiles and gives perks to players depending on their career.
In the Employment Office, you can make a decision about what kind of career you want to have. Before getting started in many of the careers, you're expected to first complete training. This means showing up every day and completing a set of tasks, just as you would when you finish training. Each career has its own requirements of training cost and time requirement, but all careers have three levels that increase salary with each level:
- Apprentice
- Amateur
- Artisan
Degree Requirements
Requiring a degree for a career means that the player needs to complete all three levels of the Student career track in order to receive their degree from Riverton Valley College, where tuition is free. Players need to complete the Student track to get their degree and only then could they sign up for one of the degree-requiring careers: Veterinarian, Historian, and Archaeologist.
Players who complete the Student track receive a Graduate badge on their profile.
Streaks
If you attend your career, complete your tasks, and collect your salary every day, you'll get bonuses for starting and continuing a streak of attendance. Players get perks for attending regularly; it reduces the amount of overall time required!
- While an Apprentice, every 7-day streak adds 3 bonus days to progress toward Amateur.
- While an Amateur, every 14-day streak adds 7 bonus days to progress toward Artisan.
Special Abilities and Areas
Some careers allow for some special abilities! Veterinarians can craft First Aid Kits and Bottles of Medicine. Farriers can create Horseshoes. Some careers also have access to secret areas, which will be made apparent at Artisan levels to players.
