Hi Rivertonians!
I appreciate all of you playing and keeping me updated on how you feel about the balance! Today's update, in addition to some big feature additions, adds a few quality of life updates and adjustments to the overall balance of the game that were mentioned in the previous news post. Don't forget to hard-refresh (Ctrl+F5 on most browsers) or clear your cache if you visit the website a lot; some visual changes have been implemented.
Additions
- Players with a farm level 1 or above now have access to Barns. This is a new way to group, sort, and filter through your adoptables. Max level players will have access to 6 Barns. You can access these in My Stables or from My Homestead.
- A new Recipe Book now shows Recipes in your inventory that you can reference while you cook in your Kitchen. You still have to have the Recipe in your inventory in order to cook that specific item, but this should make it easier to cook.
- You can now sell any of your pets instantly to offers from NPCs, located in your adoptable's settings.
- Tip: Buyers usually prefer well-trained horses and other adoptables are usually only given a modest rehoming fee, but this is a good way to "delete" any adoptables you don't want to give up for adoption in the Animal Shelter.
- There's a brand new map and list of all locations on the Map page.
- Two new adoptables are available by redeeming tracking numbers found throughout Riverton at the Pack & Ship Center. More ways are coming to earn tracking numbers!
- Tip: A 30-day streak in the Town Square gets you a tracking number to one of these!
Adjustments
- Prices per house and farm upgrade have gone up exponentially at $10,000 per level. This was severely unbalanced for players as new players were reaching Level 4 within a few days.
- Some items have been increased in price in an effort to also make the economy a bit more balanced. Some crops that are harvested also now have a lower price when sold.
- Duplicate Tack Shop items can now be placed on different adoptables. Players that had two of the same dress-up items could only place one at a time. So sorry about this! I know how excited folks are about dressing up their horses. This should be fixed! Please let me know if any further issues come up with the dress-up mechanic.
- Players will now see a notification when using an item on their pet's management page. This has been a much-requested function!
Upcoming
- Small pets
- Beginner's guide
- New livestock and harvested items
- New Collection
Follow along real-time updates on the Development Roadmap, which also now includes bug reports! Thanks for playing!
