Hello Rivertonians!
Got a big update for y'all today, introducing Chickens, Pigs, Goats, Careers, Workshop, Voting Booth, and more! This has been a big update coming after working on this for a few months. This really expands the life simulation capabilities of Riverton, and I'm excited to share with you.
Additions
- Players can now choose a career! The Employment Office is a great place to get started in the working world of Riverton. Get started training in a career right away before becoming an Apprentice, the beginning of your career journey. Or enroll in school to become a Veterinarian, Historian, or Archaeologist, careers that require degrees. As you work your way to Artisan, you'll be required to complete three daily tasks for your specific career. Becoming an Artisan provides some additional perks, such as secret areas of Riverton or the ability to create better items than what you can find in the Business Directory shops of Riverton. Maybe you'll become an Artisan Farrier and trade your higher quality Horseshoes to local Shopkeepers, who will sell them in the Flea Market to Horse Team Owners or Horse Breeders needing them for their tasks! More careers (and tasks) will be coming over time. Players who enroll in a career will have that career appear on their profile.
- Tip: Players who graduate from Riverton Valley College get a Graduate badge!
- Chickens, Goats, and Pigs are available to be adopted through the Northwest Cattle Company!
- Privacy settings are here! Players can now make their profiles entirely friends only (or private if no friends) and block other players. You can now check your privacy settings in Account Settings, and block players on their profiles. Blocked players cannot receive or send messages to the blocker.
- New tutorial is available for all players! Once completed, players will receive a Riverton Resident badge. I hope this helps get players up and running with the game, especially if they've never played anything like Riverton before.
- Tip: If you stay away for too long in the middle of your tutorial completion, you might have to redo them in order to get credit!
- The Voting Booth is now open for community-led polls! The Voting Booth is open for all players to vote on upcoming features and directions of Riverton. Check periodically to make your voice heard! (Polls will also be announced in future updates!)
- Players will at least Level 2 Farms now have the ability to unlock your Workshop, introducing crafting to Riverton! This also introduces some new items to players: Bandage, Wool Fabric, Scrap Metal, and Iron Bar. These items need real-life time in order to create. Players who are Artisan in their careers can craft some specific items. Recipes are available for all to see at the moment. Let me know what you think!
- The Music Aficionado Collection is now available, made up of all the Cassette Tapes found around Riverton! Collect them all.
Adjustments
- Guestbooks on player's Profiles have been disabled.
- Player's Profiles have been reworked visually. Pronouns and Nicknames only appear if you have that field filled.
- Maximum Barns have increased to 10. Players with Level 4 Farms will be able to have the maximum of 10 Barns.
Upcoming
- Small pets
- Bingo Hall
- Weather system
- Referrals and reward system
Thanks for playing! I really appreciate all of you spending time here. Keep an eye on the Roadmap for real-time updates, and don't forget to vote at the Voting Booth for the direction of Riverton.
